The Readiness Indicator

Each applicant card on your waitlist displays a readiness indicator, typically shown as a percentage. This percentage represents how much of the applicant's pre-checkride checklist has been completed. A higher percentage means the applicant is closer to being fully prepared for their checkride.

Viewing the Full Checklist

To see exactly which items an applicant has completed and which are still outstanding, click on the applicant's card on the waitlist. This opens a detailed view that includes their full pre-checkride checklist. Each item is shown with its status: completed, pending, or not started.

What "Ready" Means

An applicant is considered "ready" when all required checklist items have been verified. This includes items like:

  • IACRA application submitted
  • Valid photo identification
  • Current medical certificate of the appropriate class
  • Required endorsements from their instructor
  • Knowledge test passed and within the validity period
  • Fee acknowledgment

A fully ready applicant has addressed everything needed before checkride day, reducing the risk of surprises or cancellations.

How Readiness Affects Scheduling

The automatic scheduler considers applicant readiness when generating offers. Applicants who have completed more of their checklist are more likely to receive checkride offers because they are more likely to follow through. This helps you avoid offering checkrides to applicants who may not be prepared, which could lead to cancellations or wasted time.

Following Up with Applicants Who Are Not Ready

If you notice that an applicant has been on your waitlist for a while with a low readiness percentage, consider reaching out through the messaging system. A friendly message reminding them to complete their checklist items can help move things along. Common reasons for incomplete checklists include:

  • The applicant has not linked their FAA Airman Registry account
  • They are still waiting for endorsements from their instructor
  • Their medical certificate needs to be renewed
  • They simply have not checked their checklist on the platform yet
Encourage applicants to complete their checklist as soon as they join your waitlist, rather than waiting until a checkride is offered. Early completion gives the scheduler the best chance of matching them to an available slot and reduces last-minute scrambling.
