How Drag-and-Drop Works

The waitlist page supports drag-and-drop reordering on both desktop and mobile devices. To change an applicant's position:

  1. Click (or tap and hold on mobile) on the applicant's card.
  2. Drag the card up or down to the desired position.
  3. Release the card to drop it into its new position.

The new order is saved automatically when you drop the card.

What Position Means for Scheduling

The position of an applicant on your waitlist determines their scheduling priority. Applicants at the top of the list are scheduled first. This is especially important when you use the MAXIMIZE_WAITLIST scheduler priority mode, which strictly follows the waitlist order when generating offers.

How Position Interacts with Other Priority Modes

For priority modes other than MAXIMIZE_WAITLIST (such as MAXIMIZE_TIME, MAXIMIZE_REVENUE, MAXIMIZE_COUNT, or MAXIMIZE_VARIETY), the scheduler uses its own optimization logic to determine the best scheduling. In those modes, waitlist position serves as a tiebreaker when two applicants are equally good candidates for a slot. The applicant higher on the waitlist gets the offer.

New Entries Start at the Bottom

When a new applicant joins your waitlist, whether through an email invitation or self-serve signup, they are placed at the bottom of the list. You can then drag them to a different position based on your priorities.

Tips for Ordering Your Waitlist

Consider these factors when deciding how to order your waitlist:

  • Readiness — Applicants who have completed their pre-checkride checklist may be worth prioritizing since they are ready to go.
  • Wait time — Applicants who have been waiting longer may deserve a higher position.
  • Urgency — Some applicants may have time-sensitive needs, such as an expiring knowledge test or an upcoming training deadline.
  • Rescheduling — Applicants returning after a discontinuance often warrant a higher position since their test was interrupted through no fault of their own.
If you primarily use the MAXIMIZE_WAITLIST priority, your waitlist order is your scheduling order. Spend a few minutes each week reviewing and adjusting positions to ensure the right applicants are being scheduled first.
