How to Remove an Applicant

To remove an applicant from your waitlist, click on their card in the Waitlist view to open the detail page. From there, you will find the option to remove them. Confirm the removal when prompted.

What the Applicant Sees

When you remove an applicant from your waitlist, they are notified through the platform's messaging system. The notification informs them that they are no longer on your waitlist. Your existing conversation with the applicant is preserved, so they can still reach out to you if needed.

When to Remove an Applicant

Common reasons for removing an applicant from your waitlist include:

  • The applicant passed their checkride with another DPE.
  • The applicant is no longer pursuing the certificate or rating.
  • The applicant has been unresponsive for an extended period.
  • You and the applicant have mutually agreed that they should seek another examiner.
  • The applicant's training situation has changed and they are not ready for the foreseeable future.

Impact on Confirmed Checkrides

Removing an applicant from your waitlist does not automatically cancel any confirmed checkrides they have with you. If they have a checkride already confirmed on your calendar, that checkride remains in place and must be canceled separately if needed. Removal only affects their waitlist entry and their eligibility for future scheduling by the automatic scheduler.

Can the Applicant Rejoin?

Yes. Removal is not a permanent ban. The applicant can rejoin your waitlist later, either through a new email invitation from you or through self-serve signup if your waitlist is open. However, they will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist as a new entry.

There is no "pause" or "hold" feature for waitlist entries. If you want to temporarily deprioritize an applicant without removing them, consider moving them to the bottom of your waitlist using drag-and-drop instead.
Before removing an applicant, consider sending them a message to explain the reason. This maintains a professional relationship and leaves the door open for them to return in the future if their circumstances change.
