Navigating to the Registration Page

To create your applicant account, go to dpewaitlist.com/register. You can also reach this page by clicking Sign Up or Register from the homepage or login screen.

The /register page is specifically for applicants. If you are a Designated Pilot Examiner, use the DPE registration modal accessed from the homepage's Get Started button instead.

Filling Out the Registration Form

The registration form asks for the following:

  • Full Name — Your legal name as it appears on your pilot certificate. This becomes your display name on waitlists and checkride calendar entries. You can change it later on My Profile.
  • Email — A valid email you check regularly. It is how you sign in, and where your verification link, receipts and DPE invitations are sent. If a DPE has already invited you by email, use the same address.
  • Phone (optional) — A US mobile number, with a box to check if you want a text when a DPE messages you.
  • FAA Tracking Number (FTN) and Pilot Certificate Number (optional) — Your IACRA FTN, and your certificate number if you have one, which lets the platform look up your FAA record for your checklists.
If a DPE invited you by email, use that same email address when registering. A checkride the DPE offered you by email is connected to your new account automatically. A waitlist invitation's link takes you to the DPE's profile, where you join their waitlist.

Email Verification

After submitting the form, you will receive a verification email. You must verify your email before you can access the platform's features.

  1. Check your inbox for "Verify your email address - DPE Waitlist".
  2. Click the verification link in the email.
  3. On Set up how you sign in, create a passkey (sign in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock) or set a password. A password needs at least 8 characters and must be rated Strong by the meter beneath it.

If you do not see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. The link works for 8 hours; if it expires, register again with the same email for a new one.

Your First Login

Once you have set up how you sign in, you are signed in and taken to the applicant dashboard, which is your central hub for finding DPEs, managing your waitlists, viewing checkride offers, and tracking your readiness. If a DPE offered you a checkride by email, you will already see it on your dashboard.

Applicant Accounts Are Free

There is no cost to create or maintain an applicant account. All applicant features — finding DPEs, joining waitlists, receiving checkride offers, messaging, and using pre-checkride checklists — are completely free.
