Where to Add Your Phone Number
To add your phone number, go to Settings in the sidebar and select the Profile tab. You will see a Phone Number field where you can enter your mobile number. Save your changes to opt in to SMS notifications.
What SMS Notifications You'll Receive
Once you add your phone number, you will receive text messages for time-sensitive events, including:
- Checkride offers — When a DPE or the automatic scheduler sends you a checkride offer, you'll get a text so you can respond quickly before the offer expires.
- Checkride confirmations — After you accept an offer, you'll receive a confirmation text with the date, time, and location.
- Urgent updates — If a confirmed checkride is cancelled or rescheduled by the DPE, you'll be notified by text.
SMS Is Optional and Supplementary
Adding a phone number is entirely optional. SMS notifications supplement email and in-app notifications — they do not replace them. You will always receive notifications in the app and by email regardless of whether you have a phone number on file. SMS simply provides an additional, faster channel for important updates.
Privacy
Your phone number is shared with instructors you have authorized and with DPEs whose waitlist you join or with whom you schedule a checkride. It is not visible to any other users on the platform.
Removing Your Phone Number
You can remove your phone number at any time by clearing the field in your profile settings and saving. SMS notifications will stop immediately. If you want to opt out of text messages from the platform but keep your number visible to instructors and DPEs, you can uncheck the opt-in box on your profile page instead of removing your number entirely.
Message Frequency and Rates
You will only receive text messages when there is a relevant event — typically a few messages per checkride cycle. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
