Starting DPE Registration

To create your DPE account, visit dpewaitlist.com and click the Get Started button on the homepage. This opens the DPE registration flow.

DPE registration uses a dedicated flow, separate from the standard applicant registration page. If you land on /register, that is the applicant sign-up page. Make sure you are using the Get Started button on the homepage.

Email Lookup and Profile Import

The registration form asks for your email address — use the email that is on file with the FAA Designee Management System (DMS). The system uses this email to look up your DMS record and automatically imports your profile information:

  • Name — Pulled directly from your DMS record.
  • Designee number — Identified from the DMS lookup.
  • Designation details — Your designation type, district, and other DMS metadata.
  • Checkride types — Automatically populated from your Certificate of Designation (CLOA). You do not need to manually configure which checkride types you offer — the platform reads them from your CLOA.

Verifying Your Email and Setting How You Sign In

Once the system finds your DMS record, it sends a verification link to that address, and the form says Check Your Email. If you do not see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder for "Verify your email address - DPE Waitlist". The link works for 8 hours; if it expires, register again with the same email for a new one.

Click the link to verify your email. It opens Set up how you sign in, where you either create a passkey (sign in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock) or set a password. A password needs at least 8 characters and must be rated Strong by the meter beneath it — we recommend a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Your First Login

Once you have set up how you sign in, you are signed in and taken directly to your DPE dashboard, where you will see the Getting Started checklist. This checklist walks you through the remaining setup steps — your checkride durations and fees, testing locations, phone number, waitlist, availability, and how checkrides get scheduled. Your checkride types are already imported from your CLOA, so you only need to set how long each takes and what you charge.

If any of the imported information is incorrect, you can update it in your profile settings. However, checkride types are tied to your CLOA — contact the platform if your CLOA has changed and needs to be re-synced.
